Belong @ Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon.
Today was something else. And quite honestly, I'm glad I fell ill.
The time was 5 AM, I was freezing while on my bed. I thought the AC was set at "freeze" mode so I turned it down by atleast half a dozen clicks. An hour an a half later, I'm still feeling the chills. Just when I thought that the AC wasn't functioning properly, there was a power cut. The whole grid in where I stay had no power due to something blowing up somewhere. Ground reality, at the point I was pretty glad.
Even after the power cut, I felt chill'y. Realized that it wasn't the AC that wasn't working properly, it was me. I was "running temperature" (Indian Lingo) and I didnt have a clue. Stepped out of the bed to realise that my legs were super weak to even walk properly. All thanks my mind telling me that I can go all out in the gym after a break of 4 month. Lesson learnt.
As weak as I was, I sent a message in Whatsapp to the whole batch saying that I was ill and could I borrow some medicine. Instantly, the whole place was inquiring and classmates volunteered to get the medicine if nobody had it.
Until the end of the day, my fellow classmates kept checking on me to see how I was and whether I was recovering or not.
I was taken aback. Needless to say but I felt really special. Probably because I did not expect this kind of a reception. I realized that we, "The Greats", are no longer just acquaintances like how we were 2 weeks ago. We've changed, we've evolved and we've accepted.
Thank You Titans for helping me out today.
*Raises glass* "We Belong."
Cheers!
